Jeanne Pauline (JP) was born to a musical family. Her mother, a classical voice and piano teacher, taught her to play piano and sing at an early age. JP was enamored with music from the beginning and started to play piano, sing and compose songs as a young child.
Throughout her school years JP was active in many choral and select singing groups. Her senior year of high school, she formed the band Steal Hearts which played locally in the Denver area. She wrote or Co-wrote all the songs. The band recorded at FTM and Colorado Sound studios in Denver making 2 demo tapes to shop. After a fruitless promotional trip to Los Angeles, the band broke up and JP decided to go to college.
While at Colorado State University, she studied classical voice with Dr. Janet Morrow and piano with Dr. Robert Cavarra. Upon graduation, she went onto a career in Public Relations & Marketing. While working in an office in the daytime, she would perform and write songs at night. She sang and played keyboards with local bands: The British Invasion, Rhythm House, Greystoke & U4EA.
In 1994, JP decided that music deserved her full attention and to pursue it full-time. She quit her office job and found a job teaching voice & piano lessons while continuing to perform locally and write. Finally in 1995, she was able to put together a "mini-album" titled My Debut that contains six of her best songs which have a "country pop" or "adult contemporary" sound.
In 1998, two of JP's songs were added to the CD "Colorado Kaleidoscope" which is a CD featuring Colorado musicians. In 2002, JP began formulating an idea for a new cover band called DECADES. After recruiting her talented sister, Adele, the two began rehearsing with a drummer and guitarist and premiered the act in the summer of 2003. JP is currently performing with DECADES, seeking a record label interested in her original music and continuing to teach in the Denver area.
